These six members of Kenilworth Women's Guild carnival float were modeling ladies' fashions from 1910 to 1935, possibly to celebrate the silver jubilee of King George V.
The picture was taken in Clinton Lane for the 1935 Kenilworth Carnival, and the guild had evidently secured the services of SA Harris, a coal merchant and haulier, for his truck.
Kenilworth historian John Drew remembers being five at the time of the coronation, and a large party held at the park in Abbey Fields. He and all the other schoolchildren in the town were given a silver jubilee mug by Warwickshire County Council.
The Weekly News would like to hear from anyone with memories of the carnival and saw the floats, and who may even been part of the procession.
The second picture ,of a young girl, was found in Spring Lane by a reader. Anyone who knows who owns it should contact the Weekly News on 855061.
