BRAKES were disrupted by first-half injuries to Marcus Jackson and Michael Tuohy as they went down to their first Zamaretto Premier defeat since November.
Jackson had already limped off in the 35th minute to be replaced by Liam Jackson when Tuohy was left prone after a strong challenge in midfield.

The right back struggled to his feet but with Brakes left flank exposed, the Chippenham winger advance
d into the box before cutting the ball back for Ben Highmore to open the scoring.

The goal, which came on the stroke of half-time, was a bodyblow for the visitors and one from which they never recovered.

Tuohy was replaced by Richard Beale shortly after the break and, with the benefit of a generous slope, Chippenham started to carve open the Brakes defence at will.

Lewis Powell made it 2-0 with a confident finish before Brakes were handed a lifeline on the hour-mark.

Richard Batchelor was felled on the edge of the Chippenham box and Guy Sanders stepped up to drive the ball into the bottom corner for his second goal in successive games.

The goal gave Leamington increased purpose but Chippenham were soon back in the ascendancy, restoring their two-goal advantage in the 75th minute thanks to a Luke Gullick header.

Winger Gullick side-footed home his second of the game five minutes from time to make it 4-1 before Mark Bellingham took advantage of a defensive mix-up to net his 22nd league goal of the season a minute later.

There was still time for Highmore to shoot narrowly wide as Chippenham went in search of a fifth.
