Warwick Conferences, based at Warwick University, won awards in all three of the categories it was shortlisted in at the Meetings & Incentive Travel Awards 2009.
Its Conference Park was presented with the gold award for best academic venue at a ceremony held at the Novotel London West, while Scarman Training and Conference Centre won silver for best value for money conference venue and best UK management training centre.
In the past year Warwick Conferences has introduced a new facility, the 3,000 sq m ‘The Big Space’, to its portfolio of venues and is in the process of a £6.9 million refurbishment of Butterworth Hall. It also hosted several ground-breaking conferences, including the inaugural European conference for the International Association of Conference Centres (IACC), while Prime Minister Gordon Brown visited Radcliffe Training and Conference Centre for the Labour Party Policy Forum.
Rachael Bartlett, head of sales and marketing, said: “This is a great way to start 2009, and we aim to build in this success during the next 12 months.
“We will continue to host some of the country’s most exciting events, and we look forward to the reopening of Butterworth Hall in the spring.”
