FORMER England footballer Dion Dublin will be hosting a special ball on behalf of youth charity The Prince’s Trust in Leamington next month.

The Dion Dublin Ball of Sound, taking place in the art deco surroundings of the Assembly in Spencer Street on Saturday March 2, will feature live performances from acts including Fillet-o-Soul.

This 11-piece soul band have showcased with Jools Holland’s Rhythm & Blues Orchestra and the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing band.

The event will include a champagne reception and dinner served with a twist by Finesse Hospitality in the main hall.

Mr Dublin will host the ball in his role as an ambassador for The Prince’s Trust – and all funds raised will help disadvantaged young people in the West Midlands to turn their lives around.

Guests will have the chance to bid for exclusive items in an auction – including signed football shirts - and the opportunity to hear first-hand from a young person who has managed to change their life for the better following support from The Trust.

Mr Dublin said: “I am looking forward to welcoming friends old and new to my musical extravaganza in the heart of Leamington.

“It is the perfect event for those interested in having a good time while giving back to the local community and it promises to be an unforgettable night.”

John O’Reilly, regional director for The Prince’s Trust in Central England, said: “The Dion Dublin Ball of Sound will be an exciting evening with some fantastic musical performances.

“It will help us raise a significant amount of funding to help disadvantaged young people gain the skills and confidence to find work.”

Youth charity The Prince’s Trust helps disadvantaged young people to get their lives on track.

Three in four young people supported by The Prince’s Trust move into work, education or training.

The Prince’s Trust needs to raise £1 million a week to achieve its vital work

Tickets for the Dion Dublin Ball of Sound are available from Prince’s Trust events manager Lisa Glover on 0116 204 5580 or by emailing lisa.glover@princes-trust.org.uk
