Kineton Sports and Social Club is bucking the trend by forking out for a revamp despite the recession.
Refurbishment work has been taking place this week at the venue in Norton Grange, Little Kineton, and is expected to be complete today.
Secretary Mel Codd said: "Recently a lot of sports clubs have been struggling.
"We are not exactly making loads of money, but it goes against the grain that a club like ours is making something better for its members.
"We thought rather than sit still, do nothing and not attract many people to the club, let's make it a bit nicer for and a bit more friendly to people."
A reorganisation of the bar area – where a varied selection of beers and real ales are available – will mean more room for dancing and a large projector screen is expected to bring in crowds during big sporting events.
Bright red curtains and carpets will replace the current green-brown scheme and all the seats will be reupholstered.
Mr Codd said: "We're trying to brighten and freshen up the place – make it a bit more modern. People will be able to enjoy themselves a bit more and hopefully we will get some new members in as well."
Sports catered for at the club, which currently counts almost 600 members, include football, cricket, bowls, snooker, pool, darts, dominoes, crib, badminton and boxing.
The building has a separate function room where it hosted a beer festival last month and regularly holds wedding receptions, discos, gigs and meetings.
In celebration of the club's new look, folk singer Louise James will perform there tomorrow (Saturday) at 8.30pm. Entry is free for members and friends can be signed in for £1.
Membership for a year costs £10, £15 for couples and £25 for sports membership. Call 640901.
