Intrepid trio Apolo3 have taken up the challenge of driving in a 1997 VW Polo all the way to Mongolia.
They will start in Hyde Park in London and finish in the Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar - travelling a third of the world in five weeks.
Long Itchington residents Natalie Aitkin and Carl Avery with Mick Jones from Birmingham will start the Mongol rally on July 22.
The challenge is very specific and the car that is used has to have an engine smaller than 1,000cc.
The road trip goes through various countries but there is no specific route. No support is provided and the completion of the rally depends entirely on the team.
Apolo3 have decided to support three charities - the Barnados Wheels Project in the UK and Mongolian causes Mercy Corp Mongolia and The Christina Noble Children's foundation.
Mrs Aitkin said: "So that we do not just bring home stories and photos for down the pub, we are trying to raise a nice chunk of money for our selected charities."
The team is looking for sponsorship from companies and will put each business's logo on the car.
