CHARITY CRICKET MATCH CHANGE OF DATE: Please note: the date of this match has changed to Sunday August 5.
PILATES: Is anyone interested in having a pilates class at the village hall again? I have found a good teacher and so we may be able to get two classes up and running – one in the day and one in the evening (about 8pm). If you are interested or might
be interested please contact me (Jill) on 01295 770577 to tell me which day is best for you, and also best time. I will take it from there with a view to possibly getting a class up and running in September. Please leave a message (name, phone number, and which days/times suit you best) if I'm unavailable. If there is enough interest then we can make this happen.

OPEN GARDENS: A big thank you to everyone who came to Fenny Compton's Open Gardens last Sunday, at which we had a record number of visitors and almost completely sold out of cakes. The weather was kind and so everyone was able to enjoy the scarecrows and eight gardens that were open, as well as lunches at the village hall and teas on the green and at the Methodist chapel. As always it was an opportunity to meet old friends and to meet new people, many of whom discovered and enjoyed our lovely village for the very first time. The proceeds from the event will be shared between the Methodist chapel, the village hall and the parish church.

The event will include a bouncy castle, treasure hunt, jousting, face painting, tombola, bric-a-brac and more. The Fenny Compton fire engine will be there and there will be a splendid barbecue (why not come for lunch?) as wells as teas and cakes. We hope the weather will be kind this time!
The annual charity cricket match between Fenny Compton and Broughton & North Newington for the George & Mary Hughes Memorial Trophy takes place at the Broughton & North Newington sports ground on this re-scheduled date at 2.30pm. All proceeds from the event, sponsored by Compton Buildings, are shared between Myton Hamlet and Katherine House Hospices. A considerable sum is raised each year for these worthy causes, from the raffle, teas and donations.
This year there will once again be a raffle and a barbecue, plus some great cricket! Spectators are very welcome, so please do put the date in the diary and go along to support our cricket team at this special match which raises valuable funds for the two hospices.
