A BIKE RIDE TO REMEMBER: How would you fancy spending your summer holidays on your bike? And cycling 1000 miles from Lands End to John O' Groats?
Well that's just what three local teenagers are planning to do this summer. Mimi and Orlando Beckett from Fenny Compton along with Hannah-Marie Bown from Tysoe are hoping to cycle the distance in just 17 days, either camping or staying with friends o
r family along the way to minimise the cost.
Why, you might ask? They have all lost members of their family to cancer and want to raise money for two worthy charities: Sue Ryder Care, and the Teenage Cancer Trust. The group, known as the Three Wheelers are hoping to raise £5000 to be shared between the charities. So if you would like to sponsor them, they would be delighted to hear from you. You can visit their website: www.ixtlan.co.uk/3wheelers/index.php for more information.
Send us your village news by clicking hereTo contact them and to offer sponsorship they may be contacted on cycle4charity@hotmail.co.uk or you can call Mimi on 07855 802185 or write to her at 16 Northend Road, Fenny Compton CV47 2YZ. Good luck to them with their venture.

BIKE SECURITY MARKING: Southam Police will security mark your bike for you if you bring it into the station. This enables owners to be re-united with their recovered, stolen bikes and provides a straightforward means of verifying true ownership. It also acts as a deterrent to a thief. The easiest way to security mark the bike is by postcoding it. Where a postcode is used, it should include the house number or house initials after the postcode, eg CV47 2HB 1 or CV47 2HB PS.
Please be aware that the stamping does damage the paintwork of the bike and clear nail varnish (for example) will have to be applied over the stamping to prevent the bike from rusting.
