A BIKE RIDE TO REMEMBER: Next weekend teenagers Mimi, Orlando and Hanna-Marie set off on their 1,000-mile bike ride from Lands End to John O Groats to raise money for Sue Ryder Care and the Teenage Cancer Trust.

COFFEE MORNING: Coffee and biscuits will be served between 10.15am and noon at Friday's weekly coffee morning at the Methodist Sunday school room on High Street. Everyone welcome.
JUST A BITE LUNCH: This month's light lunch will be held on Monday, July 30 at the village hall from noon until 2pm. Soup, roll and cheese £2.50. Coffee, tea and home made cakes also available. All proceeds to the parish church and the village hall. Everyone welcome.
DASSETT SCHOOL: Last Saturday's fete, organised by the Friends was very well supported. Many thanks to everyone who helped make the event so enjoyable and successful. Approximately £2,000 was raised for school funds. The children break up for the summer holidays on Friday, July 20. School restarts after the summer holidays on Tuesday 4 September.
SHIPSHAPES HOLIDAY CLUB: Shipshapes holiday club will meet during the summer holiday for primary school children (reception to Year six) at Fenny Compton village hall. Dates are August 29, 30 and 31 from 10am until noon. The theme will be the story of Joseph and his technicolour dreamcoat which will be explored through drama, music, crafts and games.

YOUTH GROUP: First Mates youth group for ten to 14-year-olds continues each Thursday evening at 6.30pm. This Christian youth group run by local parents meets weekly during term-time in the village hall between 6.30 and 8pm. The cost is £2 per session including refreshments. CRICKET CLUB: The season continues with a home match against Thornborough on Saturday afternoon. Youth training for boys and girls from reception class upwards continues on Wednesday evenings. TOTS AND TODDLER GROUP: Tots and Toddlers meets each Wednesday from 9am until noon in the village hall, and will continue to do so throughout the summer holidays. NORTHGATE METHODISTS: Services for Sunday, July 22 will be conducted in the morning at 10.30am by Mr John Cotterill and in the evening at 6.30pm by the Rev Jean Fletcher. There will be no evening service during the month of August. Tea and coffee is served every Saturday morning in the church hall between 10am and noon. PROBUS: At the June meeting of Warwick Probus No 1 Club speaker Anthony Newman reminisced on the package holiday to end all holidays relating to a holiday he suffered in Venice. The talk was so graphic that members were left with the feeling that they had also suffered the holiday.
On July 15, club members and their ladies will enjoy their annual ladies day lunch. No doubt, the Probus Club members being gentlemen, will be paying.
The next meeting is on Wednesday, July 18 at 10am for coffee for a 10.30am start. The venue is Racing Club Warwick, Hampton Road, Warwick where David Howe will be speaking on the topical subject of prime ministers.
