POLICING AND CRIME: Mr. Gordon Archer reports that the number of Safe Neighbourhood Teams has increased from four to six to further improve community policing.
Under the new arrangements, the Wellesbourne SNT will work from Wellesbourne Police Station. Sgt Darren Fretwell will continue to oversee Wellesbourne and Shipston, which have replaced Stratford Rural in this area.
The Wellesbourne area will cove
r Wellesbourne, Kineton, Burton Dassett and Snitterfield. Also on the team will be Pc Steven Brown, Pc Chris Cuthbertson, PCSO Sean North and PCSO Dean Canning.
Residents are asked to look out for bogus callers from the water board, after uniforms and ID were stolen from a Thames water van. It is wise to not allow access and to contact the police on 01026 415000 (ask for the communications centre) or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
On September 13, the Wellesbourne Co-op had its shutters rammed and alarm activated. A vehicle was found nearby with its engine still running. Cigarettes were stolen and some were recovered from Loxley Close. CCTV footage shows three offenders dressed in black and wearing gloves. It's thought a Nissan Bluebird was used to ram the shutters and the offenders then made off in another vehicle. Anyone with information should contact the police ob the numbers above.

NEW TO YOU SALE: Kineton Playgroup will be holding one of its ever-popular new-to-you sales at Kineton High School tomorrow (Saturday) from 1pm to 3pm. The idea is that anyone with good quality toys and clothes fro children 0-13 years, can sell items at the sale. The seller then gets a percentage of the item sold and the playgroup gets the remainder.
