As I am wheelchair bound, I registered for assisted collection in the council's new bin collection service.
Week one: the bin men came and emptied the green bin and left it a collection point 100 yards away and did not empty red box which was full of newspapers.
Week two: did not empty grey bin.
Week three: did not empty green bin or red box which is now overflowing.
Got onto helpline waited 34 minutes to speak to a human being listening to horrid music punctuated every 30 seconds by a boring voice telling you how to deal with bins collections.
An adviser tells me a collection will be made on Thursday. On Thursday at around 11am two men came, looked at bins, then walked away, leaving bins and red box still full.
I tried to get onto the helpline but gave up after 30 minutes.
What happens next? Am I expected to take the bins to the tip on my wheelchair?
Are the council going to pay our phone bills every time we try to ring their helpline? - J Wilson, Sydenham.
