We all know that now and during the closure of Warwick Road for the Severn Trent works there will be some inconvenience to all residents in Kenilworth wherever they live in the town.
May I make a plea on behalf of those residents who live on the diversion routes, especially Farmer Ward Road, Whateleys Rise, Mortimer Road, St Nicholas Avenue, Siddeley Avenue, Brookside Avenue and Randall Road. We are suffering from increased traffic levels that are causing extra noise and danger to anyone using these roads.

We all know that our roads have to be used as the diversion routes but can we ask drivers using these roads to keep to the 30mph speed limits, apart from it being legal it does also keep the noise levels down. May we also ask drivers to be courteous to residents by allowing them to reverse out of their driveways during the busy times.

Care should especially taken between 8.15am and 9am and late afternoon when school children are also walking along and crossing these roads.
Particularly in my road we have noticed some drivers in the "rush hours" are very discourteous, they are in such a hurry they do not give way to anyone.

We ask drivers to drive on our roads as they would drive on their own. - Peter Calver, by email
