Steven finds persona to get his teeth into

Dressing up as a vampire and singing rock classics is all in a day's work for Steven Steinman who will be performing in Leamington this month.

The entertainer has sold thousands of albums worldwide and will be performing alongside 80s pop star Toyah Willcox at the Spa Centre on November 19 .

Steve created Vampires Rock five years ago after deciding to make a show containing all of the best songs from bands including AC/DC, Queen and Meat Loaf.

Describing why the hits are still so popular, he said: "They have just been around for years. They are nostalgic but we also get a lot of young people who have been introduced to the music by parents, coming to our shows as well."

This year the actor decided to add a new character, the Devil Queen, played by Toyah Willcox and he believes it has made the show even better. He added: "She is a legend and such a nice person.

"I took a risk when I first decided to use her as you have to get on when you are on the road all the time but she's first rate and it has been a pleasure working with her."

When he is not touring, the 43-year-old spends time with wife Nicky and their two young children. He also runs production company Rock Man Music and began singing while running a bar and hotel in Manchester.

He believes audience members, who often dress up for the shows, will enjoy the performance and added: "It is a bit of a laugh and a giggle and they will be up dancing and they often dress up. It is not something they have to do but a lot of them do. It's very fast-paced and is more like a concert than a musical."

Tickets for Vampires Rock at 18.50 are available from the box office on 334414 or
