Children at an Old Town school were overjoyed when they wrote to one of their favourite authors and received an illustrated reply.
Pupils at Shrubland Street Primary School wrote a biography of Zoo writer Anthony Browne as part of their reading and writing studies and sent it to him to read.
The author replied with a card addressed to the class who wrote the letter - and a sketch of a gorilla.
The card arrived in time for Word Book Day last week, on which pupils dressed as characters from their favourite books.
Headteacher Pat Dorling said: "It was such a nice thing to have. It really gave the kids a boost."
