Tai chi and relaxation sessions were enjoyed by full-time carers on a day out at Compton Verney art gallery.
The event was organised by South Warwickshire Carers' Support Service and attended by 100 people who look after a friend or relative.

'Memories and mess' workshops were held for people to chat and reminisce while they made clay tiles. Manicures, pedicures and Indian head massages were among the other sessions on offer.

Lynda Ionoff from Tysoe took time out from caring for her husband, who suffers from a range of medical conditions including vascular dementia and epilepsy, to participate.

She said: "It was wonderful to have a break, to just get out for the day.

"Compton Verney is a spectacular venue. My husband and I have spent many hours outdoors here, often having picnics with our grandchildren among the trees."

Funding for the event came from the Heart of England Community Foundation and the county council's Social Care Arts Fund.
