Three members of a Leamington family will be making a 10,000ft sky dive in memory of their "generous, joke loving" grandmother.
Joyce Izon was known to many film fans in Leamington after working at the Apollo Cinema in Leamington for more than 40 years until she died in September 2007.

Now brother and sister Debbie Bradley and Nick Izon and their cousin Greg Izon will all making a parachute jump tomorrow (Saturday) to remember their grandmother and raise money for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund.

Mrs Bradley of Rugby Road, said: "She was like a second mum. She always gave to charity and she was very generous.

"She was always one to crack a joke - that is how people will remember her.

"She said that if she had been younger she would have liked to do a sky dive, so it seemed the best thing to do."

The 23-year-old is hoping to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer and that the money the three grandchildren make will help diagnose the disease more quickly.

She says the whole family has supported them and hopes others who remember Mrs Izon will do the same.

In the meantime, she refuses to be nervous about the 10,000ft plunge that awaits her.

She added: "I'm not thinking about the jump. I'm not really doing it for me, I'm doing it for my Nan."
