A man who died after a glider crash in a field in Warwickshire on Saturday has been named.
Nigel Desmond Spencer Greenwood, 64, of Wood Green in London, was piloting the aircraft when the incident happened in Ratley near Banbury at around 5.40pm.
He had taken off from Aston Down Airfield, near Stroud in Gloucestershire, earlier that day.
Ambulance crews from the West Midlands and Oxfordshire services attended the scene.
A spokesman said: "Ambulance staff immediately assessed the occupant of the glider.
"Unfortunately it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene."
Mr Greenwood leaves a widow and one daughter.
The Air Accident Investigation Bureau is looking into the cause of the crash.
