Children at Lillington Primary School were wishing each other "Frohe Weihnachten und alles Gute im Neuen Jahr" this week after capping a year of learning the language with a spot of shopping at a traditional German market.
The youngsters swapped Stirling for Euros and hit a mock-up market at the school, testing out language skills enthusiastically learned with their Austrian-born teacher Ms Monica Beaumont.

The special event followed a trip by 20 pupils to festive German stalls in Birmingham. Headteacher Davinder Jandu said: “We didn’t want those who didn’t go on the trip to miss out - so we decided to have a market here.

“We are finding pupils are all excelling - really loving the language lessons and showing such enthusiasm.”
