A Leamington charity's chief executive has followed in the footsteps of American President Barack Obama to spread the message of peace.
Brian Wakley from Cord, took a tour of the USA and visited Washington DC and Chicago to give talks to officials, charities and churches.

He also broadcast for three days on one of the Windy City's radio stations.

Mr Wakley said: "I was impressed by the warm welcome I received from all corners and the engagement with our work.

"America is hungry for change and there is a huge expectation that the new presidency will grasp that and be at the forefront of global advocacy in building peace.

"I hope and trust that together we can play our part in that huge task."

Cord, based in New Street, helps provide aid and education to people in some of the world's most war torn countries.

The charity has links with donors in the USA through Unicef and the United Nations and is partnered with the Book Wish Foundation which has provided hundreds of textbooks for Cord's programme in Chad.
