Thousands of residents are expected to march through Warwick to show their support for the town's fire station and its crew.
The protest will start from Warwick Racecourse on Sunday December 6 and is a chance for residents to campaign against plans to cut fire cover in the area.
Some 7,000 people – including Prime Minister Gordon Brown – have already signed a petition against plans to close the Albert Street station along with six more in the county.
Warwick district councillor Karen Scarrott (Ind, Warwick North) is organising the march with the support of Conservative prospective parliamentary candidate Chris White.
Cllr White (Con, Warwick North) said: "This will be the biggest opportunity for the residents of Warwick to express their opposition to the proposals and in the face of such overwhelming opposition, an opportunity for the decision makers to think again.
"It would make a massive impression to see thousands of people all campaigning to save our station."
Stations in Kenilworth and Fenny Compton are also earmarked for closure and, under the new plans, fire cover for the three towns would be provided by Leamington fire station, in Warwick Street.
Warwickshire county councillors are expected to make a decision on the plans once the public consultation period ends in December.
Cllr White (Con, Warwick South) believes it will be difficult for one station to cover such a wide area.
He said: "Warwick has a sufficient population to need its own fire station and we can't rely on Leamington to cover everything from Whitnash to Warwick Gates and from Myton Road to the Woodloes and look after Kenilworth as well.
"We owe our firefighters a lot more than this."

This is what I thinkProtestors will meet at 11.30am at the town's Racecourse by Hill Close Gardens and the march to Shire Hall will start at noon.
Once they arrive at Shire Hall there will be speeches from leading critics of the cuts.
Warwick watch manager Tony Kemp hopes everyone who signed the petition will take part in the march.
He said: "They will have to close the town centre for the event as there is so much public support.
"The march will give the public a chance to express their opinion and I hope that officers from stations at risk and other stations who would have to provide cover for those areas will all turn up.
"The cuts would affect Leamington residents as well, as the appliances may not always be in the town."
