Vandals targeted a Leamington party shop this week and left its window display monkey and owner feeling a little 'brassed off'.
Norman Parker of Party Time in Gloucester Street discovered his shop window had been smashed when he arrived at work on Tuesday morning.

It had been decorated with a Caribbean-themed display of garlands with a toy monkey as the centrepiece.

Luckily, neither the monkey or anything else in the shop was stolen.

Mr Parker said: “We haven’t got a clue why anyone would do this and are disappointed at their mentality.

“At a time when business is slow in the town, this is the last thing you want to happen.

“But I’m pleased I’ve still got my little monkey and it wasn’t a brass one sitting in the cold.”

Anyone with information about the vandalism should call Leamington police on 415000.

l Mr Parker does not have a name for his monkey and is asking for suggestions from readers.
