Brawling mothers used "disgusting" language and pulled each other's hair as they fought in front of children at a Leamington school.
The fight at Shrubland Street Primary broke out between two women in the playground just before 9am on September 24.

The matter has since been resolved, but another parent who wished to remain anonymous told the Courier she was disappointed the school had not been in touch.

She said: "It was absolutely disgusting. To me, if you are going to have a fight, wouldn't you leave it until all the children had left? You don't do it in a playground full of parents and children.

"There was hair-pulling and people on the floor. The language was disgusting - if you can imagine the worst language that can come out of a woman's mouth, that was what we had to listen to.

"My children don't hear language like that - and every single pupil was in that playground because they had not blown the whistle."

According to the mother, there were four or five teachers in the playground at the time but the fight was allowed to go on for five minutes before children were taken inside.

She added: "My daughter has not slept and she keeps talking about the fighting. She is four. It was absolutely horrible. I am angry that we have heard nothing from the school."

Headteacher Patricia Dorling said: "I was not in the playground at the time but the short-lived episode was expertly handled by the four members of staff who were on duty. They managed the situation incredibly well to minimise any upset to those nearby.

"In order to keep disruption to a minimum I felt it unnecessary to contact all parents regarding this incident. I have met with those involved to come to a sensible resolution.

"At Shrubland Street we take great care to ensure safety and wellbeing of all our pupils and the playground is supervised at all times when the children are outside," she added.
