Ponchos and tea helped to create an "excellent" atmosphere at Avon Dassett's rather wet 20th annual fete on Saturday.
In spite of persistent rain, more than 1,000 people turned out to watch dressage and falconry displays, a ballet performance, taekwon-do demonstrations, dog shows and ferret races.
People were also given the chance to try their hand at fly-fishing, archery, climbing and pony-riding, and there were fairground rides, a coconut shy, skittles and a 'human fruit machine' operated by children.
Steve Sartori, chairman of the fete committee, said: "The atmosphere was excellent.
"Somebody brought in a box of ponchos, which were sold pretty quickly, and the tea tent was absolutely full. Everybody enjoyed it."
He picked out the gun dog show and falconry display among his favourite attractions – although there was a worrying period when a bird of prey went missing.
Mr Sartori said: "The poor guy from Chiltern Falconry lost his hawk – but luckily it was tagged and found ten miles away."
Around 150 people stayed on until the early hours to enjoy entertainment provided by DJ Screwloose Kevin and folk-rock band Bang on the Ear.
Proceeds from stalls and food and drink sales are still being counted and will be donated to the Village Playground Project, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, the Dassett School in Fenny Compton, Radway Cricket Club and Katherine House Hospice.
Last year's event raised around £4,000 on the day for a number of charities and organisations and the fete committee later donated a further £3,500 to the causes.
Mr Sartori added: "This year was the first time it has rained in nine years, so I am pleased that so many turned out.
"Thank you to everybody who attended and to all those who helped organise the event."
