Mental health service users in Warwickshire will share their stories of emotional distress in a new scheme.
Talkbank has been set up by South Warwickshire User Forum for Mental Health to create a network of people from in and around the county as part of its awareness, media and information project.

All members will receive training and support so they can help make people more aware of mental health issues.

Forum spokeswoman Heather Payne said: "The project exists to challenge the stigma surrounding mental health.

"The talkbank of people willing to share their stories with the media will help to dispel myths and send out positive messages about well-being and recovery.

"We would like to encourage people who have used services in Coventry and Warwickshire to contact us if they would like to help fight stigma and share their stories."

The project will support the national anti-stigma campaign Time to Change, which launches this month. For more information call 335569, visit www.stopstigma.org.uk or email heather@swuf.org.uk
