HUNDREDS of yellow birds - usually more at home in a bathtub than the wild - took to the water for Southam's annual duck race on Bank Holiday
Monday.
Organised by Southam United Bowls Club, the recreation ground event attracted hundreds of residents who had sposored a particular plastic duck to quack on and beat its rivals downstream.

George Jordan, who has organised it for the past eight years, said: "It went very well indeed - there was a nice crowd and the weather was good.

"We are really appreciative of all the people who bought tickets."

Money raised by the event will help pay for the upkeep of the bowling green and be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support and the British Heart
Foundation.

Sue Chaplin's duck won her the £100 first prize and Andrew Parry's duck came
