Stolen car ploughs into Whitnash house
A Whitnash family had a rude awakening early on Wednesday when a stolen car smashed into their home.
The blue Vauxhall Corsa became embedded in the wall when it crashed into the house, in Fieldgate Lane, at 2.38am.
The car caused severe damage but nobody was hurt as the family were asleep upstairs.
The driver, an 18 year old man, was not injured and was arrested on suspicion of stealing the car and drink driving. He spent the night in police custody and was interviewed on Wednesday morning.
Officers from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service made the vehicle safe.
A police spokesman said the structure of the building would be assessed as soon as possible.
Anyone who saw the vehicle before the collision or who witnessed the accident should contact Pc Patrick Kearney at Greys Mallory traffic base on 410414 voicemail 10171.
