A Whitnash man who attacked a teenage boy when giving him a lift in the early hours of the morning has been remanded in custody after being convicted of rape.
Huseyin Cakmak, 48, of Moorhill Road, denied falsely imprisoning and raping his 17-year-old victim, but was found guilty by a jury at Warwick Crown Court this week.

Prosecutor Simon Phillips said Cakmak had offered the teenager lifts in the past, which he had declined.

But when he was walking home from a night out at 4am on November 5 last year, he accepted as he did not have enough money for a taxi.

But Cakmak, who said he was delivering food in the area, drove past the boy's turning then engaged him in inappropriate conversation as he drove towards Heathcote industrial estate.

Camak told the youngster he thought he was good-looking, before attacking him in the car park of a catering company.

The teenager managed to break free and escape from the car.

He hid and called his father who picked him up and took him home, from where the police were called and Cakmak was arrested.

John Barker, defending, said Cakmak claimed the youth had flagged him down after he had dropped a friend off at the station.

He also claimed it was the boy who had been making inappropriate remarks and trying to touch him in the car.

Cakmak said he had spent ten minutes trying to persuade the teenager to get out.

Mr Justice Coleman Treacy told Camak: "It is inevitable for crimes of that gravity that I will be passing a sentence of custody on you. I require reports to be prepared with a view to considering whether you pose a threat to public safety."

The case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report.
