Concerns were raised on Tuesday over plans to build a wind turbine on the side of a house in Wellesbourne.
The equipment would be used to produce electricity for the home of Warwickshire Energy Efficiency Advice Centre chief executive David Jullien, of Manston Drive.
But parish Councillors, who discussed the proposals at a Wellesbourne parish council
meeting on Tuesday, were worried that it would make too much noise.
Coun David Johnston said while he had sympathy for people who wanted to start using environmentally-friendly products, he did not know what it would look like from the street or what impact it would have.
He said: "I wonder if it makes noise and it is potentially a problem if it does. But this may not be a factor."
Coun John Grantham agreed and said: "Everybody is jumping up and down about the turbines. But we have got something and would be about the size of a television aerial which would also be turning. I would also like to know what noise it would make. I think we have to consider this and be careful."
He said the council knew very little about wind turbines and he did not want to agree to a plan without more information on the impact it could have on the area and wildlife.
He suggested the parish council should object to the proposals which would mean the application would be considered by a Stratford District Council planning committee.
But Coun Michala Piotrowski said: "It is going to be the way forward whether we object to this or not. There are a lot of concerns about this but to object would be a bit strong."
The council decided to ask for more information about the wind turbine and how it would work before making a decision on whether to agree to the plans.
