Visiting hours at Warwick Hospital remain restricted to evenings only after an outbreak of the winter vomiting bug Norovirus.
Up to 25 patients are suffering from the contagious illness, which causes vomiting and diorrhea.
It is the second outb
reak at the hospital in the past two months.
But staff are confident the situation is now contained, with no new cases this week.
Chief executive Glen Burley said: "We have plans in place to deal with outbreaks of this kind, and we would ask for the support and understanding of patients and visitors."
Infection control director Dr Stephen Mather said: "Several cases emerged on Friday. As a result we closed afternoon visiting hours with immediate effect and restricted visitors to a maximum of two per patient.
"We urge anyone with any diarrhoea or vomiting symptoms to stay away from the hospital and remain away for 48 hours after their symptoms disappear."
The patients have been isolated and are being regularly monitored.
The illness is not normally serious but can have a debilitating effect on people who are already poorly or recovering from an illness.
Visiting hours are restricted to 6.30pm to 8.30pm throughout the hospital, except in special circumstances.
