A Leamington man accused of starting a fire in which another man was burnt to death will appear in court again in September.
Raymond Ward, 35, appeared at Warwick Crown Court on Friday charged with the murder of 42-year-old Bhupinder Johal.

It is alleged that on June 4 Mr Ward set light to a disused dry cleaning premises in Wise Street, Old Town, in which Mr Johal was sleeping rough.

Ten fire crews tackled the blaze, which began at around 6am. Mr Johal's body was recovered the following day.

Prosecutor Neil Bannister told the court police were still awaiting a report on the fire and asked for a longer than usual period for the prosecution papers to be prepared.

Defence barrister Peter Cooper said that the defendant was likely to apply for bail.

Judge Christopher Hodson adjourned the case until September.
