Appeal of assault near Leamington station

Police in Leamington are asking people to cast their minds back to January 7 to recall details of an assault which happened near the town’s railway station.

At about 7.20pm, a man was walking underneath the railway bridge at the junction of Bath Street and High Street, when he was approached by another man who mumbled to him then punched him in the face.

A number of passers-by stopped to look, but did not offer assistance, and a jogger is known to have diverted around the victim.

The offender is described as a white, about 5ft 6ins to 5ft 7ins tall and with short blonde hair.

The victim suffered an injury to the inside of his mouth as a result of the assault.
