Andrea Fisher and her partnerSteve Antino have had their 'dream shattered'due to the problems they've had with their new build Cala Home, in Bishops Itchington.

Andrea Fisher, 41, and her partner Steve Antino, 38, moved to the village from Aylesbury in August last year when they bought the CALA Homes property in Marlow Green for £350,000.

The couple say that within weeks of moving in they had compiled a long list of issues with the building and that they have ongoing problems with the house’s roof, the way it has been insulated and is ventilated.

Miss Fisher said: “Our dream has been shattered.

“They do not seem to understand the seriousness of our situation and it feels as though our situation is trivial to them.

“We have been through hell and back and our nightmare is far from over.

“We’re at a loss as to what to do and have more rights purchasing a pair of shoes than we do a £350,000 house.”

Miss Fisher says she has emailed MP Jeremy Wright and is waiting for an appointment with him.

She has also emailed Prime Minister Theresa May appealing for more regulation and greater protection for new build purchasers.

And she has set up a page on Facebook to highlight the issues with the property.

A spokesman for CALA Homes said: “We pride ourselves on our customer service and after care and take any customer issue extremely seriously.

“We have a strong track record in this area across our eight regions but regret that, on this occasion, we have fallen short of our own high standards.

“We remain in regular contact with Miss Fisher and are fully committed to resolving matters with her.”

**** A recent YouGov survey for the housing charity Shelter found that 51 per cent of homeowners of recent new builds in England said they had experienced major problems.

The survey, which polled 4,341 UK adults online, was published alongside a Shelter report that concluded that the housebuilding sector is rigged in favour of big developers and land traders rather than families looking for homes.
