Businesses with women on their boards are statistically more successful, leading Coventry and Warwickshire businesswomen were told.
Sarah Windrum, director of Emerald Communications in Leamington, was speaking at a debate organised by the LadiesFirst Professional Development.
Her audience at Trident Park included 50 professional women who were discussing the Power of Women in Business.
She said: “Companies with women on their boards consistently out-perform others by 56 per cent.”
She was one of four businesswomen on a panel chaired by BBC Midlands TV reporter Joan Cummins. Other panel members were Cheryll Rawbone, from Oval Insurance Group, Angela John, of Warwickshire County Council and Erica Kemp, of law firm Alsters Kelley, sponsors of LadiesFirst.
