Dariusz Pawelec, who has been at the depot for four years, was selected for the third year running, after Stagecoach’s hi-tech eco-driver monitoring system - fitted to all buses based at the Leamington depot - showed that his driving was the most effective at reducing fuel consumption, carbon emissions and wear and tear on the vehicles.

Dariusz, who has also driven buses in Coventry and Lublin, Poland, said: “I like my job and driving well comes easy to me. I do not have to check the monitoring system in the cab to see how well I am driving.”

Richard Hands, operations manager for Stagecoach Leamington, said: “Once again, Dariusz has achieved the best possible eco-driving score throughout the year, which clearly demonstrates his ability to provide our passengers with a safe and comfortable journey.”
