Fifty activities in Warwick district during Heritage Open Days

Taking place from Thursday September 10 to Sunday September 13, the annual event invites people to gain free access to sites of interest across the country - and this year, around 50 sites or activities in Warwick district form part of the programme.

The district council’s head of development services Tracy Darke said: “Warwick District Council is delighted to be a partner in organising the Heritage Open Day event in 2015.

“It will enable people to discover the story of Warwick district told through its historic buildings and gardens. This is a wonderful community event and it is all completely free.”

In Leamington, participating sites include: All Saint’s church, the Hindu Temple. Leamington Real Tennis Club, the Royal Pump Room and Assembly Room and Foundry Wood.

In Warwick, they include: Alderson House Masonic Rooms, Guys Cliffe House and gardens, the Old Courts and Judges House, Warwickshire County Record Office and Market Hall Museum.

In Kenilworth, they include St Nicholas church and Kenilworth Abbey Barn Museum, while in the rural areas of the district, places taking part include: Packwood House in Lapworth, Bagot’s Castle in Bagintonand Chesterton Windmill.
