An open evening will be held at St Nicholas church as the process to appoint a new vicar begins.

St Nicholas and Barnabas churches are now in an interregnum period since the retirement of Richard Awre earlier this summer.

The Archdeacon Missioner, Morris Rodham, runs the appointment process for the diocese and will host the evening to help make sure the process is as transparent as possible.

St Nicholas will be open on September 7 between 7pm and 9pm, where the archdeacon will explain the selection process and answer any questions. All welcome.

A vicar is expected to arrive at the churches shortly to take over until a permanent replacement is appointed.
