Leamington and Warwick schoolchildren take acting talents to the West End

Further to a previous article about two girls from the area who have secured places in West End productions, two more talented young actors have been selected for a different show.

Charlotte Hay (known as ‘Lottie’) and Ed Murdoch - who both attend the Warwick Pauline Quirke Academy, will both be singing in the choir in Godspell, alongside Kerry Ellis, Ramin Karimloo and Preeya Kalidas, at St Paul’s church in Covent Garden on August 30 and 31.

North Leamington pupil Lottie, 12, who has already performed at Disneyland Paris, is currently working with a vocal coach at Totally RAD Music in Leamington, where she also studies guitar and song writing. She will soon head to London to work with the musical director and production team.

Lottie’s mum Sandra said: “Performing is her passion. She has been involved with theatre and live musical performance since the age of seven. Eventually she hopes to work in the industry, perhaps performing, singing and writing for the West End.

“For now she is over the moon to have such amazing performance opportunities and is enjoying every minute.”

Myton School pupil Ed, 13, started with Spa Theatre when he was seven. He is also a keen musician, playing guitar and mandolin. His mum Kathy said: “He is very excited - really looking forward to the experience and meeting other people.”
