People who have experienced the UK’s asylum system are taking part in a play about the topic at the Grand Union restaurant in Leamington’s Old Town tomorrow (Tuesday March 11).
The Ice and Fire Theatre Company is bringing the Asylum Monologues, which was launched by Amnesty International in 2006 and has been touring the country ever since, to the restaurant in Clemens Street at 7pm.
With a script that is regularly updated with new testimonies, the aim of the play - written by Ice and Fire founder Sonja Linden - is to give a voice to those within the system.
The evening has been organised by Warwick Amnesty Group and Student Action for Refugees. Entry is free.
Ice and Fire explores human rights stories through performance, working in production, outreach, education and participation. To find out more about the company, visit iceandfire.co.uk
