High winds rip through Whitnash

Waiting for Video...

Our photographer Morris Triughton-Hume took some phtoographs of the commotion caused by high winds in Whitnash this morning.

Wheelie bins were pushed over by the winds, pedestrains stuglled to get from place to place and one trader was able to show off the show off the working sails on his model windmills in full effect.

Elsewhere winds of up to 140mph have battered Scotland leaving at least one person dead before the severe weather moved south to threaten the rest of the country.

More than 200 communities across England and Wales have been told to prepare for flooding in the next 24 hours.
