Sadiq Choudhary, who manages Indian Ark in Warwick Road, was praised by Sue Cawdron for his honest actions, after she realised that she had lost the diamond to her ring when returning from the restaurant to the Chestford Grange Hotel on Saturday April 23.

She said: “I had the ring made from a number that my mum had left me when she passed ten years ago. The ring means a great deal to me.

“The night manager at the hotel, Richard Fulford, helped to phone the restaurant and the taxi company who had taken us.

“I spoke to Sadiq and he promised to look for the diamond and phone me. About 45 minutes later, he phoned to say he had found it and said he would bring it to me at the hotel, which he duly did. He would not accept any money but I think he could tell how relieved I was.

“I wanted to let the people of Kenilworth know that they have a real-life diamond in their midst. It’s great to know there are still great people who do the right thing.”
