Christmas cheer was brought to residents at Sycamores and Woodside care homes in Sydenham and Warwick in the days before Christmas by volunteers from National Grid in Warwick.
Staff in the company’s Gridtones Choir took time out to sing festive tunes at the two care homes, which are run by WCS Care. Sycamores’ manager Clive Mackreth said: “The choral afternoon willbring so much pleasure to our residents and staff and it’s great to see a company giving something back to its local community.
“Our experience has shown that old people who are living with dementia benefit from music. This involves people and residents playing instruments and making music. We have found that the music is popular with residents and can help them to communicate.”
