A plan to build 60 new homes on land in Radford Semele which was unusually supported by the village’s parish council has been approved.

But Sharba Homes Ltd must agree to provide certain financial contributions towards infrastructure in the area no later than June 6 for the approval to remain valid.

The firm plans to build the new homes on 3.4 hectares of land to the north of Southam Road. Warwick District Council had received 18 letters of objection to the scheme, which raised concerns, among others, about the potential harm the site would cause to open countryside, the perceived danger of the access to the site being on the brow of a hill and on a bend and the loss of productive agricultural land.
