A new plan that requires utility firms to obtain permission for carrying out roadworks in Warwickshire has been hailed as a “victory for residents”.

The council will introduce the new scheme next year in a move councillors say will give people more control over when disruptive roadworks take place. Cllr Peter Butlin said: “This is a real victory for the residents of Warwickshire who may have felt under-informed and with little say over when and where roadworks happen.”
