The small village of Eathorpe was “absolutely packed” when its famous Christmas lights display was switched on by BBC Midlands Today presenter Mary Rhodes.

Every house in the village simultaneously lights up every year - and this year, new attractions included a performance by Cubbington Silver Band and amusement rides.

Organiser and resident Graham Peck said: “The village was absolutely packed. I didn’t count how many people were there, but there were definitely more than ever before.”

More than £2,000 was raised on the night for Autism Concern and Integrated Psychotherapy for Under-Fives. This breaks previous fundraising records for the village’s Christmas lights event.
