Students celebrate A-level results

Around 6,000 students completed courses and sat exams earlier this year.

Warwick School enjoyed great success, with over 54 per cent of students achieving A* or A grades. Ronit Kanwar achieved 4 A* grades and will take up his place at Keble College, Oxford to read economics and management. Thomas Leung also achieved 4 A* grades and will study medicine at UCL.

Headmaster Gus Lock said: “Congratulations to all our Upper Sixth students for an excellent set of A-level results.

“Once again, I am delighted that our boys have performed so well, improving on last year’s results and securing places at a host of elite universities in the UK and beyond.”

Kenilworth Sixth Form’s students were also successful.

11 per cent of grades were A*, and 12 per cent of students achieved AAB grades or better in the so-called ‘facilitating subjects’. All students achieved at least one pass.

Headmaster Hayden Abbott said: “This success is a testament to our students’ consistent hard work, commitment to their studies, and first class support from their dedicated teachers.

“We are immensely proud of our students and wish them all good luck as they progress to the next stage of their education or career.”

North Leamington School’s Sixth Form students performed better than they did last year, with 63 per cent of grades between A* and B.

Top achievers included Henry Lay’s four A*s and one A and Jenny Hill’s three A*s and one A.

Headteacher Joy Mitchell said: “These results reflect the tremendous amount of hard work and commitment of both students and their teachers when expectations nationally are rising year on year.

“I am convinced that our students’ results will put them in a strong position for successful pathways beyond school, whether it be university entrance, apprenticeships or employment.”

All of Southam College’s students achieved passes, with 57 per cent at A* to B.

Notable achievements came from Ellie Parker, Phoebe Brown, Sara Disney and Ethan Skitt who all received two A*s and an A.

Vocational results were also impressive, with all students achieving at least Distinction. Lauren Twinning earned three Distinction* grades.

Head of Sixth Form Keith Bradbury said: “We are delighted with the results of all of our students and wish them the very best of luck for the future in all of their endeavours.”

King’s High School’s students achieved highly.

A quarter of all students received all A* or A grades. Emma Loveridge did especially well, receiving four A*s. She will go on to study chemistry at Durham University.

And Emily Beevers will study Modern and Mediaeval Languages at Cambridge after receiving three A*s.

Headmaster Richard Nicholson said: “Our congratulations to our girls whose results reflect the level of their hard work and dedication. We are very proud of them.”

Aylesford Sixth Form’s students did very well. 44 per cent of entries were graded between A* to B and 75 per cent were A* to C.

Caitlin Gold earned four A*s, and Hannah Young received two A*s and an A.

Headteacher Steve Hall said: “We congratulate all students on their endeavours and wish them the best of luck as they move on to their various destinations.”

Trinity Catholic School’s students improved their results on last year, with 50 per cent of grades at A* to B.

Caitlin Knights and Tom Knight will be studying to Oxford and Cambridge respectively after their achievements.

Principal Chris Gabbett said: “I am very proud of this effort - A-level study takes incredible commitment and support from students, teachers and families, and I thank all who have worked so hard to achieve this.”

King Edward VI School Stratford’s students achieved record results. 86 per cent of results were graded between A* and B, and ten students will go on to study at Oxbridge.

Headmaster Bennet Carr said: “These are truly outstanding results and I am particularly delighted for this year group.

“They really are a most impressive group of young people who deserve our congratulations for their hard work and commitment.”

Students at Campion School achieved excellent results - 56 per cent of grades achieved were either A* or A.

Emilia O’Reilly earned four A* grades and will go on to study natural sciences at Cambridge University.

Headteacher Jassa Panesar said: “The pupils at Campion have achieved excellent A-level results and this has resulted in pupils not only going to top universities but also securing employment, training and apprenticeships.

“I am very pleased with our Year 12 and 13 pupils.”

Princethorpe College’s students enjoyed great success, with over a quarter of all grades at either A* or A and over 80 per cent at C or better.

Headmaster Ed Hester said: “We have had another great year and the results show that the hard work of both students and staff has been rewarded. We all wish them well for the future.”

Myton School’s students achieved above the national average, with 30 per cent of grades at A* or A.

Amritpal Singh earned four A*s and one A, and Ben Aveyard, Radhika Sarda and Francesca Burt all received three A* grades.

Headteacher Andy Perry said: “We would like to congratulate all out students, they deserve their successes. The governors and staff are justifiably proud of their achievements.”
