A woman in her 40s has died after falling from the sixth floor of the Covent Garden multi-storey car park in Russell Street, Leamington, yesterday (Thursday).

Tavistock Street and the immediate area around the car park was initially cordoned off as a result of the incident which took place shortly before 5.30pm.

Most of the area and the car park has now been re-opened.

The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time, but police would like to hear from anyone who was in the locality of the Covent Garden multi-storey car park, or Russell Street or Tavistock Street yesterday and who saw anything out of the ordinary.

They are asked to call Warwickshire Police on 101.

The identity of the deceased will not be released until formal identification processes has been completed and relatives have been informed.
