Vomiting bug outbreak restricts visiting at Warwick Hospital

Warwick Hospital.

Warwick Hospital.

The contagious vomiting bug norovirus has returned to Warwick Hospital, meaning visiting restrictions apply to immediate effect.

There is currently no visiting on Dugdale, Squire and Malins ward. All other wards are also under restricted visiting, with visits permitted between 2pm and 4.30pm and 6pm and 8pm.

There are exceptions to the restrictions on maternity, paediatrics and intensive care units and where there are compassionate grounds.

To help reduce the spread of infection, the hospital is asking the public to consider their health before entering the hospital. Anyone who has suffered from sickness and diarrhoea within the last 48 hours, or been in contact with anybody who has, is asked to stay away from the hospital for the time being.

Visitors, patients and staff should all wash their hands before entering a ward.
