Body of missing Warwick Man Bernard Tandi found

THE BODY of a man found in the River Avon on a remote stretch between Warwick and Barford midday on Monday has been formally identified as missing man 38-year-old Bernard Tandi from Portobello Way in Warwick.

Police were alerted after a member of the public reported seeing a body in the river.

The body was recovered from the water by a specialist water search team and taken to a mortuary. Experts later identified the body as belonging to Mr Tandi.

Police are investigating the circumstances around his death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.

A post mortem has been scheduled to take place on Thursday to establish the cause of his death.
