Car crashes into opticians

editorial image

COURIER reader David Watton sent in these photos of a car crash in the Parade, Leamington, on Saturday evening.

Mr Watton noticed the crash while driving home from work and said part of the road was closed as a result of the incident, which happened at about 6.30pm.

A blue Jaguar XF had come off the road and hit the front of Charnley’s Opticians, breaking a window and causing damage to the shop front.

Rod Jenkins, a director for the opticians, said: “It looks as if we’re are going to new a whole new shop front as there is quite a bit more damage than was originally thought.

“I heard that there were members of staff in Lloyds TSB next door and they thought it was a ram raid.”
