Flood alleviation plans for Cubbington agreed
ALLEVIATION work to prevent future flooding in Cubbington has been given the go-ahead.
Warwick District Council’s planning committee last week unananimously approved a system of earthworks, headwalls and underground pipes designed to prevent a repeat of flooding that inundated homes in the village in 2007.
The works will take in land along the southern and eastern edges of Cubbington, with Mill Lane the north eastern boundary of the site. The works will run along the south-east of Cross Lane, down the east side of Welsh Road before cutting across to the southern edge of the Thwaites factory car park.
Cllr Alan Rhead (Con, Budbrook) said there was only one major omission, which was a travel plan governing where construction vehicles could travel and called for this to be added to the plans.
